The City of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Department of Public Works held a celebration on April 16 of its NBP environmental management system certification at the Moccasin Bend Wastewater Treatment Plant. The event included representatives from WEF, NACWA, and NBP. Chattanoogas biosolids EMS program was independently verified on February 12, 2009 by the audit firm, KEMA Registered-Quality, Inc. Some of the benefits from their NBP EMS program participation included: improved communications and credibility with interested parties, increased employee awareness of their roles, improved biosolids data management and document management, and development of goals and objectives for the treatment facility.  More >>
